The Art of Leash & Long Line Handling
Prerequisite: REQUIRED COMPLETION OF RBBM I-CONCEPTS PRIOR TO ATTENDING THIS COURSE
This three (3) day course focuses on the understanding of communication and detail provided through the proper use of a leash and long line. We will cover the human side of the equation and the signals and communications humans send (most of the time unconsciously) through their use, carry and handling of a leash/long line. This course provides trainers and owners with an in depth look at the oldest training and communication tool between the humans and a canine. You will learn to focus on the actual signals you are sending to the dog and the signals the dog is sending to you through the leash. You will gain an understanding of how to communicate your intent even before leash use. You will learn how to build trust and communicate through feel, timing and touch.
There will be opportunities to write notes. This is a hands-on class with no formal “presentation” time. All instruction will be with the human and dog combination.
